The Virtual Races/Challenges We’re Currently Eyeing

Lately we’ve seen some really creative virtual races/challenges. Below is a list of our favorites: 

Great Virtual Race across Tennessee 1000K

Put on by the creator of the Barkley marathon, this virtual races has you go 1000 kilometers across Tennessee. Lasting 4 months, it started May 1st and ends August 31, 2020. You can still sign up if you’re interested. This is great if you’re looking for something that gets you out everyday. 

Yeti Ultra 24 Hr Challenge 

If you’re looking for a 24 hour challenge, this is a great one! The goal with this challenge is to run or walk 5 miles every 4 hours for 24 hours but you can’t do all the miles at once. You can still register for this challenge, you just need to complete it by May 30, 2020

The great run across Illinois Virtual Relay & Solo Challenge 210 miles/390

This virtual race you can do with family and friends or solo and has options to run east to west 210 miles or north to south 390 miles. If you’re doing it with a team you have 30 days to complete the challenge. If you doing it solo, you have 70 days. As of right now registration is still open. It also supports the Illinois Nurses Foundation. 

The great run across California Virtual Challenge

Similar to the run across Illinois, this virtual race takes you across California. With three distance options of 155 miles from San Francisco to South Lake Tahoe, 347 miles from San Francisco to Los Angeles or 705 miles for the whole distance of California north to south. Again you can complete the race with teams or by yourself and the time to complete varies based off of the distance. It also supports The Children’s Heart Foundation. 

Bigfoot... The Social Distancing Champion’s Running Challenge

If you’re looking for shorter distances and a more traditional virtual race, this would be ideal for you, with distance options of 5k, 10k, half marathon, marathon. The race also supports US food banks 

River X challenge virtual 

This one is great if you love to run and bike. Following the distance of the Maumee River, you can run or bike or both. The distance ranges from 137 miles if you’re running, 274 miles if you’re biking, and 411 if you’re doing both. It starts June 1st and ends June 30th.
